It is our main goal to have an inclusive event with a welcoming atmosphere, so that people can connect, hang out, make friends – and all of this while learning about JavaScript and seeing beyond their own noses.
What is a diversity ticket
These tickets are made available for you, if you are part of a group which is either under-represented in technology or you simply do not have the means to attend. Such groups could be (but not limited to): women, people of color, LGBTQIA people, disabled people, refugees, students, and people facing economic hardships.
To help them, we provide a limited number of free, Diversity Sponsored tickets.
These tickets are available through an application procedure. Along with personal details for the tickets itself, we ask applicants a few questions about what they do in tech, or what they wish to learn on the event. These answers are helpful for the jury, who will evaluate the applications and award the tickets.
Diversity and student scholarship application
The budget for these tickets will be put together by sponsoring companies and individuals, who buy Diversity Sponsoring tickets.

What Does an Awarded Diversity Ticket Include?
Each award is for one conference ticket, which includes:
- admission to this year’s JS Kongress
- catering for session days of the conference
- admission to the parties organized for the conference attendees, speakers, partners and staff
- if needed: a € 300,- travel and accommodation stipend
Why are we doing this?
These tickets give us the possibility to support someone who under normal circumstances can’t be a part of JS Kongress. We are happy to have the opportunity to lend a hand and help out, as we have seen diversity tickets change the lives and careers for people in the community.
We believe that a more diverse crowd makes for a better event and community. If you agree, we invite you to become a Diversity Supporter by buying one of the Diversity Supporter tickets. You have the option between a Regular Ticket + 50% or 100% Diversity Support.
The Sanctity of Applicant Information
Applicant details and submission information will be shared exclusively with JS Kongress organizers. Diversity Ticket Sponsors will not have access to applicant information.
How Are Winners Determined?
A limited number of tickets will be made available. Each application will be thoroughly vetted to ensure it satisfies all program requirements before being added to a pool. Diversity tickets will then be awarded via a lottery system. One submission per applicant is sufficient to maintain eligibility for each award.
Supporting this Program
Diversity Sponsorship is not money for a party, nor for fancy catering, or a nice booth. It is a chance for someone.
We are currently accepting Sponsors for our Diversity Ticket Fund. This fund will be the sole support of JS Kongress 2016 Diversity Ticket Program. Your consideration and contribution to helping our creative community grow and evolve will be recognized. Diversity Sponsors’ company logos will be added to our Sponsors & Partners Section, and sponsors will receive special recognition during the conference. Code of Conduct
All attendees, speakers, sponsors and staff at JS Kongress 2016 are required to agree to the Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.
